222. Capt. Joseph TALCOTT97 was born on 31 Jan 1728 in Bolton, Tolland County, Connecticut. He died on 10 Jun 1789 in Coventry, Tolland County, Connecticut.98 Capt. Joseph, son of Benjamin Talcott and Esther Lyman, was born in Bolton, Ct., June 31, 1728, married Eunice, the daughter of Samuel and Elizabeth (Smith) Lyman, of Coventtry, and sister of his brother Benjamin's wife b. Sept. 4 1733, Jan. 9, 1752.
Joseph Talcott, was a farmer in Coventry, and through his wife received a farm on "Pond Hill," where he lived and died. He was drowned in the Skankamug river, June 10, 1789. His epitaph on a stone in the old south burial ground of Coventry, reads thus:
"As the fishes that are taken in an evil net, and as the birds that are caught in the snare, so are the sons of men snared in an evil time."

Capt. Joseph TALCOTT and Eunice LYMAN were married on 9 Jan 1752 in Bolton, Tolland County, Connecticut. Eunice LYMAN (daughter of Samuel LYMAN and Elizabeth SMITH) was born on 4 Sep 1733 in Bolton, Tolland County, Connecticut. Capt. Joseph TALCOTT and Eunice LYMAN had the following children:
