on 12 Oct 1797 in Bolton, Tolland County, Connecticut. He died on
28 Dec 1871 in Wakeman, Huron County, Ohio. Rev. Joel, son
of Dea. Phineas Talcott and Hannah Kellogg, was born in N. Bolton,
Ct., Oct 12, 1797, married Lois, daughter of Judash and Catharine (Fowler)
Twining, of Tolland, Mass. (b. 1808), Oct. 5, 1829.
Lois, the wife of Rev. Joel Talcott, died March 16, 1836, and he married
Sarah Ann, daughter of Archibald and Elizabeth (Anderson) Cummings, of Sullivan,
Ohio (b. Nov. 3, 1813), Dec. 13, 1838.
Rev. Joel Talcott died at Wakeman, Ohio, Dec. 28, 1871. He was fitted
for college at Bacon Academy, Colchester, Ct., and entered the class of 1824,
in Yale College. A year after graduation he entered the Auburn Theological Seminary,
where he remained two years. He was ordained an Evangelist in Hartford, July
1, 1828, and went immediately to Wellington, Lorain Co., Ohio, where he settled
in the ministry, where he remained ten years. For the last ten or twelve years
of his life, owing to impaired health, he relinquished preaching and engaged
in agricultural pursuits. Rev. Joel TALCOTT and Lois TWINING were married on
5 Oct 1829 in Wellington, Lorain County, Ohio. Lois
TWINING (daughter of Judah TWINING and Catharine FOWLER) was born in 1808
in Tolland, Hampden County, Massachussets. She died on 15 Mar 1836
in Wellington, Lorain County, Ohio. Rev. Joel TALCOTT and Lois TWINING
