son of Capt. William Talcott and Dorothy Blish, was born at Rome,
N. Y., March 1, 1818, married Minerva Pettibone, daughter of Hiram Cody,
of Bloomingdale, Ill. (b. at Vernon Center, Oneida co., N. Y., July 7, 1827),
Sept. 23, 1847.
Samuel TALCOTT and Minerva Pettibone CODY
were married on 23 Sep 1847 in Rockton, Winnebago County, Illinois.
Samuel Tailcoat was born on Rome, N. Y., March 1, 1818. After attaining
to manhood he was engaged for several years as a civil engineer on the Genesee
valley canal. He came to Rockton in 1843, where he made his home for about sixteen
years. He married Miss Minerva P. Cody, of Bloomington, Ills., Sept.
23, 1847. After his residence in Rockton, he moved to Du Page county. His wife
died at Napierville, Ills., April 21, 1865. For years afterwards he lived in
Missouri. His present home is in Darlington, MO. On the first of last March,
he celebrated his eightieth birthday, and invited in his friends and relatives.
It was an enjoyable occasion. Minerva Pettibone CODY
(daughter of Hiram CODY) was born on 7 Jul 1827 in Vernon Center, Oneida County,
New York. She died on 21 Apr 1865 in Napierville, DuPage County,
Illinois. Samuel TALCOTT and Minerva Pettibone CODY had the following
