47. Mary TALCOTT24 was born on 26 Aug 1661 in Hartford, Hartford County, Connecticut. She died on 19 Apr 1723 in Hartford, Hartford County, Connecticut. Mary, daughter of Lieut.-Col. John Talcott and Helena Wakeman, was born in Hartford, Ct., August 26, 1661, married Richard, son of William Edwards, of hartford, 1692.
Richard Edwards died April 20, 1718 in his 71st year. His wife Mary died April 19, 1723, aged 62 years. He was born May, 1647, and was the only child of William Edwards, one of the first settlers of Hartford, who died 1672, and agnes Spencer, widow of William Spencer, also a first settler of Hartfoed. His grandfather was Richard Edwards, D. D., of London, after whose death his grandmother, Ann, married James Cole in London, and came to America when his father William was young, and settled in Hartford, where she died Februaryn20, 1678-9, leaving her estste to her son William during his life, and then to her grandson Richard. There are no Edwards descendants by Mary Talcott living.
Richard Edwards married for his first wife Elizabeth Tuthill, daughter of William, in 1667, by whom he had Timothy, b. May 14, 1669-70, Mary Abigail, Elizabeth, Ann, Hannah and Mabel. By his will he provided that John should take charge of his mother during her life, and directed that Daniel should be educated at College (Daniel became Judge of the Supreme Court of Connecticut, and died 1765); that Samuel to whom he gave all his land in Colchester, should be put to trade. His son Timothy by his first wife was educated and settlrd in East Windsor, as their minister, where he preached until he was 84 years old, and died there January 27, 1758, in his 89th year.
The Rev. Jonathan, son of Timothy, was born in Windsor, Oct. 5, 1703, Y. C. 1720, elected President Princton College, 1758. Jonathan, D. D., son of President Jonathan, graduated at Princeton N. J. 1765, and became President of Union College, Schenectady, and died 1801.
This Richard Edeards was the progenitor of the celebrated Edwards family of Connecticut.

Mary TALCOTT and Richard EDWARDS were married in 1692 in Hartford, Hartford County, Connecticut. Richard EDWARDS was born in May 1647 in Hartford, Hartford County, Connecticut. He died on 20 Apr 1718 in Hartford, Hartford County, Connecticut. Mary TALCOTT and Richard EDWARDS had the following children:
